ALACE briefs MPs on Local Government (Pay Accountability) Bill
ALACE does not consider this Bill to be necessary: it will add bureaucracy to the appointment process for senior officers for no perceptible benefit.
The Bill had its Second Reading in the House of Commons in March and will be considered by the Commons General Committee on 22 May. The briefing note below has been provided to members of the Committee.
If the Bill proceeds to the House of Lords, ALACE will work with other organisations to seek appropriate amendments to the Bill.
