ALACE responds to 2025 pay offer for chief executives

The Association of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (ALACE) has welcomed the offer for local government chief executives in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Tracey Lee, chair of ALACE, said “The pressures facing Heads of Paid Service continue unabated, their experience, judgement and impartiality has arguably never been more important. We are pleased that an offer has been made for all chief executives covered by the JNC. While we are not in a position to accept the offer at this stage, we welcome that, the offer is the same as for other staff groups. We also welcome the recognition in the employers’ letter that chief executives “continue to provide such critical support to their communities”.

ALACE will not be in a position formally to accept the offer until the settlement for the NJC has been confirmed.
