ALACE SECURES DOUBLING OF PAY OFFER FOR CHIEF EXECUTIVES
ALACE has secured a much improved offer from the Local Government Employers. The revised offer of 2% in 2018 and in 2019 has been accepted as it matches the increase for the generality of staff. These increases apply to chief executives in England, Wales and Northern Ireland whose pay is covered by the Joint Negotiating Committee for Chief Executives of Local Authorities. Separate negotiations are under way in Scotland.
For most chief executives covered by the JNC pay arrangements, the improved offer secured by ALACE is worth £1,000 to £1,500 in 2018/19, which after tax and other deductions will more than cover those members’ subscriptions to ALACE due in January 2019.
